Webster
Community Chest

When crisis hits, the Webster Community Chest steps up—offering food, emergency aid,

and hope to local families who need it most.

ABOUT WEBSTER COMMUNITY CHEST.

For over 75 years, the Webster Community Chest has lived its mission: Neighbors Helping Neighbors. Founded in 1948 and powered entirely by local donations, it’s the last remaining community chest in Monroe County—and one of Webster’s greatest lifelines.

Whether it’s groceries for a family in need, rent relief to stop an eviction, or hygiene supplies to restore dignity, the Chest fills critical gaps with compassion and speed. In 2024 alone, they distributed over 11,000 meals, delivered food to the homebound, funded summer camp scholarships, and provided emergency assistance to those with nowhere else to turn.

When traditional safety nets fall short, the Chest is there. And they do it all without government grants—just the generosity of Webster.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

You can be the reason a Webster family has food on the table or a roof over their head:

  • Donate: Support the annual fund drive or give online through PayPal. Every dollar stays local.

  • Volunteer: Help at the new Meal Center, assist at events, or join the board.

  • Advocate: Spread the word to friends and neighbors.

  • Recycle for Good: Drop off your bottle returns at Nickel Back Bottle and Can Redemption Center.

  • Give Through United Way: Use Donor #1469 to designate your donation.

There are many ways to help—and every form of support matters.
